Savulaik Gilberts spēlējis projektos “Racer X” un “Mr. Big”.
2006. gadā tika izdots viņa pirmais solo albūms "Get Out of My Yard", 2008. gada martā otrs - "Silence Followed By A Deafening Roar".
Pols Gilberts sadarbojies ar tādiem pasaulslaveniem ģitārmeistariem, kā Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Mattias IA Eklundh, Marco Minnemann u.c.
